The Office of Alumni Affairs coordinates events, activities, programs and services that support and benefit alumni.  Live and virtual events such as professional and social networking receptions, class and group reunions, and academic presentations/receptions, along with a monthly E-newsletter and notices about campus events of interest, enable alumni to stay connected long after they graduate. In 2020, Alumni Affairs launched an online Alumni Book Club and an Alumni Webinar Series featuring two to four monthly presentations on professional development, personal enrichment and life-long learning.  In 2021, Alumni Affairs launched its first online Alumni Directory, and an on-line social justice movie group "Movies That Matter" kicked off in April 2022. The latest undertaking is the Oral History Project, a year-long effort to record and compile stories. The Office of Alumni Affairs coordinates "Class Notes" in Eastern Magazine, and actively solicits alumni news. The Office of Alumni Affairs now partners with the Office of Student Activities to combine the annual “Eastern Celebrates Reunion Day” with “Family Day”, resulting in a more robust experience for the broader Eastern family of students, parents, and alumni of all ages.  Since 1969, Alumni Affairs has recognized alumni and special friends for outstanding career achievement or service to the University.  Alumni Affairs also hosts the annual “Commencement Fair”, for graduating seniors, and takes the lead role in helping new graduates with the transition to their new role as alumni. Additional further resources available to alumni can be found at Alumni and Friends - Eastern.

The Office of Alumni Affairs also encourages alumni to show their pride in their Eastern education by supporting the University's programs through tax-deductible donations to the ECSU Foundation's Annual Fund.  Current students can support Eastern through gifts to the annual High 5 student gift program.

Current Eastern students are welcome to connect with the Office of Alumni Affairs on its social media platforms:

Students who have an interest are encouraged to apply for unpaid internships in the Office of Alumni Affairs.  Internships focus on promoting alumni activities and campus news of interest through social media, as well as in event planning and operations management.
